After a devastating fire destroyed the Surf Rider restaurant at Whitehouse Cove Marina in June 2019, TST Construction was called in the very next day to begin demolition and lead a fast-track rebuild effort. The original structure, built on wood timber piles, no longer met updated flood zone regulations. TST worked closely with the design team to engineer and install a complex raised concrete footing system integrated with the existing piles to elevate the building and meet current code.

Despite challenges such as limited power availability, tight waterfront constraints, and damaged marina access, TST restored utility service, rebuilt the surrounding decking, and ensured continued access for boaters. The new Surf Rider features panoramic dining room windows, an expanded kitchen, and a custom horseshoe bar, all while preserving the charm of the original space.

With creative ADA ramp solutions and expert coordination across all trades, the $1.6M project was completed in just six months. TST proudly delivered a resilient, upgraded facility for Surf Rider’s return to service in February 2020, earning the support and enthusiasm of the local community throughout construction.
