V-10 Full Sensor Tower Repairs

Project Specifics:

TST Construction completed the critical repair and renovation of the V-10 Communications Tower at the Surface Combat Systems Center on Wallops Island, a mission-essential structure supporting the U.S. Navy’s Aegis Combat System and Atlantic Fleet operations. The project involved extensive structural upgrades, including a 165-foot-high scaffolding system, multiple crane lifts, platform removals and replacements, steel and handrail system repairs, and full mast restoration. Despite the project’s remote location, tight shutdown window, and COVID-19 supply chain challenges, TST maintained perfect scheduling and completed the work safely and on time. The team also identified and resolved unforeseen structural issues in close coordination with NAVFAC, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. TST’s performance earned an “Exceptional” CPAR rating and industry recognition in Scaffold & Access Magazine.
