Client Name: U.S. Navy

Project Type: Federal Government Design-Build New Construction
Architect: DJG, Inc.
Square Feet: 2,100 sq.ft.
TST Construction was contracted to deliver a new 2,100-square-foot Military Working Dog (MWD) Kennel at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown. Replacing the existing facility, the new one-story structure was designed to meet the operational and welfare needs of military K-9 units stationed on the base.
The facility includes eight kennel bays, along with purpose-built support spaces for food preparation, storage, canine bathing, and mechanical/electrical systems. Constructed on a durable concrete slab with load-bearing CMU walls and light-gauge metal trusses, the new kennel was engineered for long-term performance in a secure, mission-critical setting.
TST also performed associated site work, including utility tie-ins, grading, and exterior improvements to support the building’s function and accessibility. Throughout the project, our team coordinated closely with Navy stakeholders to ensure full compliance with federal safety, access, and environmental requirements.
This project reflects TST Construction’s ability to deliver specialized facilities that support national defense infrastructure — with speed, structure, and precision.
